Getty Images' Watermark In Real Life

For those of you who don't know this. Getty Images is one of the most famous image banks out there. Naturally, the low res previews of their stock photography always have the Getty Images watermark on them.

Now, Getty takes the watermark to the streets for their most recent advertising campaign
They recreated it in glass and placed it infront of many monuments and attractions around Germany, along with a simple message: "All the images you can imagine".

Although I think the concept is pretty cool, Im not very sure about its execution. I mean there's always that awkwardly protruding pole that carries the glass "watermark".

Lifetokens

Lifetokens are neat little tokens that tell people what you need to say. The front of the token features a design that represents a specific sentiment, and the back of the token contains a unique six-digit code. lifetokens are real objects sent via real mail in order to express real emotions.

HOW IT WORKS:
  1. Tokens are purchased online and shipped anonymously via real life mail to the recipient.
  2. The recipient finds a mailer containing the token in their mailbox.
  3. The recipient follows the instructions on the mailer and enters the unique six-digit code (found on the back of the token) at lifetokens.com.
  4. The token message and sender information is revealed to the recipient.

Say It With Chocolate By Jamie Wieck

Designer Jamie Wieck gives chocolate-giving an update with this clever idea: printable chocolates. The individual chocolate “pegs” can be arranged in a box to form a word or short message that is printed on the top inside of the box (thanks to chocolates with a low melting point which allows the chocolate to melt even in room temperature). Unfortunately, it’s only concept, but hopefully something like this gets mass production.

Mulled Wine Bottles By Buddy Creative Studio

A bit way past Christmas, I know, but still definitely worth posting!

"As a seasonal greeting to clients and friends Buddy designed and sent bottles of spiced mulled wine. Their Christmas wishes were pad printed matt silver directly onto the glass of the bottle, the design being suggestive of measuring jug graphics. The concept therefore, the more you drunk the merrier the message."

Dirt Poster

The future belongs to the few of us still willing to get our hands dirty.

"Designed by Roland Reiner Tiangco, Dirt Poster requires your participation to complete it. The back side of each poster is covered with a layer of ink, which you need to “paint” onto the front side the poster, to reveal the message that has been spot-varnished onto the paper. Awesome! The poster is limited edition and can be bought for $80.

Stereo.type: Typographic Jewelry

By Ebon Heath, in collaboration with Dubai based jewelry designer Mona Ibrahim.
The first collection of this collaboration was launched June 2009 in Dubai, at the designer retail store, gallery 50 degrees.

All the designs are made of the different unique forms each culture uses as language. This collection was both in Arabic and English, the 2 official languages of Dubai. This use of multilingual type endows the jewelry with a meaning and message (or a beautiful abstract form if u cannot read the language).
