The Smart Finger Digital Measuring Tool

Smart Fingers turn your hands into ruler. It uses two fingers, the pair of plastic tubes slip over your real fingers and measure the distance between themselves. The distance is displayed on the side of one of the fingers, you can store it in memory for transfer to a PC.

Designed by Choi Hyong-Suk, Jung Ji-hye, and Yoo-Jin Park. Currently it is just a concept.

All My Friends Are Dead

A dark-witted book explores the feelings of loss and loneliness with ironic levity

A children's book for adults, "All My Friends Are Dead" cleverly illustrates the inevitable sadness we all will face—whether you're a tree, sock, pirate, cassette tape or other—when our friends cease to exist.

From the snowman whose friends all melt away to the house plant whose friends are slowly killed by humans, the book uses dark humor to shed light on the ubiquitous feeling of loneliness.

Written by actor Avery Monsen and journalist Jory John, "All My Friends Are Dead" sells online from Chronicle Books (where you can check out the lighthearted video short) or at Urban Outfitters stores for $10.

We Love Apple By Adobe

Ok here's the story:

Apple has never authorized the presence of "Flash" (developed by Adobe) on the iPhone or on the iPad to the dismay of the users, developers and Adobe. So Adobe created an ad "WE LOVE APPLE" to explain that they have nothing against Apple, but that they just do not appreciate those who try to control the internet with proprietary technologies.

Adobe's Issaco imagined what Apple's response (via an ad) would be like. He simply replaced the heart with the little graphic that appears on an iPhone or iPad when you try to view Flash content! Smart!

IKEA's Brilliant Facebook Campaign

Here's the story.

IKEA opened a new store in Malmo, Sweden and didn't have a lot of money to advertise about it or let people know about it. So they hired a small advertising agency called Forsman and Bodenfors to create a special launch campaign.

Now, what the agency did was that it created a Facebook profile for the store manager, Gordon Gustavsson. and over a period of 2 weeks, it uploaded images from IKEA showrooms to his Facebook photo album. Then they announced that the first person to tag their name to a product in the pictures, won it.

Before you knew it, word got out and thousands of Swedes were begging for more pictures so they could tag themselves a new sofa, a new bed etc. At this point, thousands of Swedes, were spreading pictures of IKEA showrooms all around their profile pages!

Genius!
