Straight Up Chess

Straight Up Chess makes chess boards that fit today’s life style. The vertical wall mounted board is one part game, one part wall decor. The chess board’s tiles become the back drop to pieces that sit on acrylic shelves. A decorative frame turns it into an art piece, to be played until you’re ready for the next match up.

D'Espresso Cafe

Inspired by the nearby Bryant Park Library, nema workshop designed a store that is straightforward in a simple twisted way – Take a library and turn it SIDEWAYS. The booklined shelves become the floor and ceilings and wood floor ends up on the walls meanwhile the pendants protrude sideways from the wall. To achieve the books shelves on the floor, the space is lined with sepia-toned full size photograph of books printed on custom tiles.

Riveli Shelving

Mark Kinsley, a product designer, developed space-saving fold-down shelves known as Riveli Shelving. Not only do they fold up and down in many configurations, but you can customize them by creating your own design on the front of the panels. So basically artwork that turns into shelves.

You can find Riveli Shelving at Iconic Revolution.

Kinsley is currently in search of a manufacturer who will help him create a drop-in panel system so that you can change out the panel designs too!
