Everyday Items Made of Wood

New York based artist Randall Rosenthal creates unique wooden sculptures everyday household objects.

Each sculpture is hand carved from a single block of wood and then carefully painted with ink and acrylic to look incredibly like the real thing.

Literary Jewels

Artist Jeremy May carves holes into books and laminates the results in order to create rings. He makes jewelry out of books by laminating hundreds sheets of paper together, then carefully finishing to a high gloss.

The paper is selected and carefully removed from a book, and the jewelry re-inserted in the excavated space. Pictured above is a ring made from Margaret Atwood’s The Edible Woman.
