Lebanon In Action For The Environment

"A Lebanese environmental activist stands inside a room made out of glass on the sidewalk of Beirut's Ain al-Mreisseh neighborhood on October 16, 2009. The activist intends to endure the hot atmosphere of his glass room and the increasing water level by locking himself inside for three days and nights in an act which symbolizes the negative outcomes and the dangers of global warming."

Pet Umbrella

For those of you who don't know, im an animal fanatic. I just absolutely adore them. I've got 1 dog and 2 cats; all rescues. And Ive gotta say, this umbrella is just awesome!

Ive also got to take advantage of this post to "promote" the Lebanese animal welfare organization that I support; Animals Lebanon. If you're an animal lover, please take a minute to visit their website. They've got the best team of dedicated founders. They have a shelter and the most adorable cats and dogs up for adoption. You can view their pictures online.

Featured Work: Maya Zankoul

Fellow blogger/designer Maya Zankoul has been in the spotlights lately for her admirable work, posted daily on her blog Maya's Amalgam. Maya just sketches her funny, everyday experiences that usually many of us here in Lebanon can identify with.

"Maya Zankoul, a 22-year-old graphic designer from the southern village of Hasbaya, had had it with work one day when she decided to let out her frustration on an online blog. She drew sketches of her ideas spontaneously, unaware that the images posted on her blog also conveyed grievances shared by the youth of the country." - Now Lebanon, in an article published on their website.

You can also watch an interview that Maya recently had with Al Hurra Television.

Here are some snapshots from Maya's blog. You must check it out!

Awesome Lebanese Shirts

I just found out about this today. Luanatic was recently formed when a bunch of talented Lebanese designers/artist came together for what they call a "creative workshop" that focuses on experimental art. Not only do they offer all kinds of graphic design services but they also sell their own products including: tshirts, gadgets, accessories, all kinds of customized items, candles, wallpapers, greetings etc. You can find them in Monot. Not sure where exactly, but Ill definitley be heading down there soon enough. In their shop/studio, you can also enjoy some coffee, freshly baked cupcakes and nice music. Also, check out their website, its really nice, although most of it is still under construction. Im really impressed. Kudos! No but seriously, arent the shirts just awesome?!!!
