Keret House by Centrala: Thinnest Flat in The World

Keret House is a project by Jakub Szczęsny of Centrala. And is soon to be built in a narrow void between the buildings in the district of Wola, Poland.

"Keret House is said to have an interior that will vary between 122 centimeters and 72 centimeters, making it an extremely narrow crib. With a total area of 14,5 square meters, the new house will accommodate a workspace as well as a guest studio."

Real Life Version Of Pixar's Flying Balloon House

National Geographic actually created a real-life version of Pixar's animated hit film Up.

The National Geographic Channel and a team of scientists, engineers, and two world-class balloon pilots successfully launched a 16' X 16' house 18' tall with 300 8' colored weather balloons from a private airfield east of Los Angeles, and set a new world record for the largest balloon cluster flight ever attempted. The entire experimental aircraft was more than 10 stories high, reached an altitude of over 10,000 feet, and flew for approximately one hour.

The Safe House

Well, I've been bumping into this house on design websites for a while now without really looking into it. I just thought its another one of those minimally designed cool houses. Turns out its a bit more than that!

Located on the outskirts of Warsaw, Poland, 'The Safe House' by Katowice-based architectural
office KWK Promes is a two-storey residential house that aims to provide a feeling
of maximum security for the residents.

True to its name, the most distinguishable element of the design is the moveable exterior wall components that allow the house to be completely closed to its environment or open and connected to the rural landscape.

While the initial read of the design might seem confining, the house, when in its open state, offers immense transparency while establishing a strong relationship to the site.
